A Pair of Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
